ADIL’s client was a stakeholder for a field in the UK, owning 40% of the asset. ADIL’s client had no technical resources within their company to assure the appropriateness of the decisions made and approached ADIL to help.

ADIL had experience and expertise in debottlenecking and assigned a qualified Process Engineer to provide expert opinion in the debottlenecking study. ADIL performed a review of project documentation and provided expert opinion on the project design, cost, constructability, operability and schedule.

ADIL attended key project meetings, as specified by the Operator; these included peer reviews, HAZOPs and stage gate reviews of the client’s partner’s Project Delivery System (PDS). ADIL highlighted important issues to consider and the correct direction to follow, establishing a strong relationship with the client and helping with the right advice, making sure the right questions are asked and that the focus was on high importance areas.

ADIL provided ad-hoc support for almost three years, building a strong working relationship and is still assisting the client with different issues.

ADIL specifically delivered:

  • High level review of project documentation and provided expert opinion on the project design, cost, constructability, operability and schedule
  • Technical notes summarising opinion and findings in a timely manner following meeting attendance and document reviews • Attended meetings as directed by the client either in London at client’s offices or alternate locations in Aberdeen
  • Attended, raised questions, recorded and followed up a study kick off meeting with the Operator with, and as representative of the client
  • Provided feedback, conclusions and recommendations regarding the PWH to the client within 10 working days of the meeting with the Operator
